• Hello!  Hello! It's nice to meet you!

Welcome! My name is Ms. Olsen and I will be your child's math teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. Since I will be working so closely with your child, I'd like to tell you a little about myself. This year will be my third year working in the Long Branch Public Schools District and my second year working for Long Branch Middle School. My very first year, I worked at Lenna W. Conrow as a special ed pre-school instructional assistant. Last year, I started here at the middle school teaching 8th grade math. Now I am excited to begin a new year teaching 6th grade math.

    GSE Graduates

Before my teaching career began, I studied at Rutgers University. I graduated from Rutgers in 2017 with a bachelors degree in psychology. In 2019, I graduated from Rutgers Graduate School of Education with a masters degree in education. I am certified to teach k-5th grade, 6-8th grade mathematics, and special education. While getting my degrees, I worked part time as a pharmacy technician for a local veterinary hospital. This summer marked my 10th year working there! During that time, I also worked at St. Leo the Great School as a 3rd grade instructional assistant.

    My parents and I

When I am not teaching, you may find me cooking/baking, painting, reading a good book, spending time with family, or visiting my two adorable god children. I also love to travel! I have seen 28 states so far. I look forward to finding out what your childs passions are this year and making their first year in middle school lots of fun! (Yes, math can be fun!)

I hope I have the opportunity meet you all in person very soon! We will get through this year together. Know that I am here for you every step of the way! If you ever need anything, please do not hesitate to reach out.

    Best, Ms. Olsen
