• Hello! Hello! It's nice to meet you!

Welcome! My name is Ms. Olsen and I will be your child's math teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Since I will be working so closely with your child, I'd like to tell you a little about myself. This year will be my seventh year working for the Long Branch Public Schools District and my sixth year working at Long Branch Middle School. During the 2018-2019 school year, I worked at Lenna W. Conrow as a special education pre-school instructional assistant. I started at Long Branch Middle School during the 2019-2020 school year as an 8th grade math teacher. At the start of the 2020-2021 school year, I joined the 6th grade math team. I am so excited to continue teaching at the 6th grade level and look forward to getting to know your child throughout the 2024-2025 school year.

    Ms. Olsen

Before my teaching career began, I studied at Rutgers University. RU Rah Rah! I graduated from Rutgers in May 2017 with a bachelors degree in psychology. In August 2019, I graduated from Rutgers Graduate School of Education with a masters degree in education.  I am certified to teach K-5th grade, 6-8th grade mathematics, and have a special education endorsement. While getting my degrees, I worked part-time as a pharmacy technician for a local veterinary hospital. I was an employee there for just over 10 years! While finishing my masters degree, I also worked at St. Leo the Great School as a 3rd grade instructional assistant. I completed my student teaching in Neptune Township where I split my time between Green Grove Elementary in a 1st grade classroom and Neptune Middle School in a 7th grade math classroom.

    See you in class!

When I am not teaching, you may find me shopping, cooking/baking, reading a good book, jamming out to some music at a country concert, spending time with my family, or coaching the Long Branch High School girls lacrosse team. This will be my fourth year coaching, and third year as the head coach. Go Lady Wave! I also LOVE to travel! I have traveled to 28 states so far. I look forward to finding out what your children's passions are this year and making their first year in middle school lots of fun! (Yes, math can be fun!)

I hope I have the opportunity to meet you very soon! We will get through this year together. Know that I am here for you every step of the way and promise to support your child in every way that I possibly can! If you ever need anything, please do not hesitate to reach out. I am looking forward to an incredible school year!
