Welcome,
I am very excited about starting my tenth year at Long Branch Middle School. “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” I believe as Nelson Mandela does that education is essential for change. My goal is to impart to every student the tools necessary for a successful educational journey that is meaningful.
I graduated from Monmouth University with a dual major in History and Education. These are two themes that are dear to me. To this end, I have visited some of the history we teach our students. For me, visiting these sites makes teaching social studies exciting. I hope to convey my enthusiasm for history and learning to every student.
I also hope to convey through my examples in life that community involvement makes us better citizens and gives us a sense of ownership. I have volunteered in my children’s parent-teacher organization where I was president for a period of time. I was a member of the Avon Garden Club and I continue to assist the Girl Scouts. I am also a member of the Avon Environmental Commission. In all of these positions, we help to improve our school and the environment. I hope students will get involved in a community project so they may too feel a sense of pride.
I will continually challenge your child to do their best and communication will be key to his/her success. My Teacher Page is a source I will use to post current unit work, quizzes, tests, writing assignments, homework, and projects. I encourage you to talk to your students about their schoolwork and please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I know that this will be a great school year!
