The NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards in Dance are composed of 4 strands: The Creative Process, History of the Arts and Culture, Performance, and Aesthetic Responses and Critique Methodology. Performance Dance students will participate in structured learning modules that encompass all 4 strands throughout the year, with a strong emphasis on refining pre-professional skills in The Creative Process and Performance. Additionally, through the study of dance, students will also exercise critical thinking and problem solving skills as related to the NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards in 21st Century Life and Skills and Career Awareness Exploration and Preparation.
