Mrs. Nicole Agozzino

Welcome to the 2025-26 school year! My name is Mrs. Nicole Agozzino and I am honored to be teaching your child Algebra 1 this year! This will be my third year teaching at Long Branch High School and my 10th year teaching overall. Although it will be my tenth year, I consider each year as my first because I have the honor of getting to know new students with new interests, hobbies, goals, inspirations, strengths and different learning styles. I graduated from The College of Staten Island with my Bachelor's in Mathematics and Master's in Adolescent education, grades 7-12. I love getting to know the students and being a part of the battles of the classes for the Spring pep rally as a coach, alongside Ms. Marino, go Freshmen!! I have two children, Joey(10) and Isabella (6). They love coming to school with me on bring your children to work day to meet all the students! I am looking forward to a great year and working as a team to ensure your child's success!

My teaching philosophy is centered around the idea that all students can learn math to a higher level by creating/incorporating tasks that allow for:

-multiple entry points

-discussions and talking points

-students to make personal connections

-multiple representations and different approaches

-students to gain and apply feedback

-leadership and collaboration

-enrichment opportunities

-student choice

In order to support students in learning math to a higher level, time is spent at the start of the year and referred to throughout the year, on developing a growth mindset, practicing accountable talk, understanding the "Power of Yet", incorporating inspirational math tasks and referring to our positive math norms written by Jo Boaler.
