Long Branch High School

Tara Okun graduated with high honors from Rutgers University with a degree in English. Her studies also included Post-Colonial Literature and Race, Class, and Gender Studies. She received her certificate as a Teacher of English and has achieved highly qualified status. Mrs. Okun began her graduate studies at New Jersey City University and is pursuing further education at her alma mater. She is also a member of the ASCD, NJEA, and the NCTE. As a proud member of the faculty at the high school since 2008, she currently teaches English 11 Honors and AP Literature and Composition. Mrs. Okun enjoys working as Head Teacher of the English Department in the progressive Long Branch Public School District, where she advocates excellence and equity for all students.
