Mrs. Switay attended Stockton University where she eared her Bachelors of Science in Marine Biology. After working for three years in the field of Marine Biology, Mrs. Switay decided to go back to school to be come a teacher. Mrs. Switay attended Monmouth University and received a Masters in teaching secondary science. At Monmouth University she also completed the endorsement program to teach special education.
