    6.1 A We will learn:
     
    *about government and laws.

    *about citizens and their responsibilities in the community.

    *about leaders elected by the citizens.

    *about people in our history.

    *about the rights of its citizens that is guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.
     
    *about three branches of the U.S. government and its own special job.

    *to compare and contrast the local, state, and national governments.



     6.1B We will learn:

    *to use geographical tools to locate places on the Earth.

    *about different landforms, climate, and weather in North America and how it affects where and how people live and work.

    We will learn:
     
    *the roles of producers and consumers in our economy.   

    *that we make choices based on our wants and needs and the available resources.

    *how products from resources are made and sold at markets.

    *how scarcity, supply and demand affect our economy.

    *how we trade with one another to get the goods and services we need.

    *about people in history who have come up with new ideas and inventions to improve our lives.

    *how and why communities have changed over time.

    *about Native Americans and European settlers.

    *about events and people who led to the growth of the United States.

    *about symbols and landmarks.

    *about heroes and holidays.

    *about many cultures of the world.

    *about what is a culture.

    *about immigrants of many cultures and why they come to the United States.

    *about how diversity brings new ideas, ways of living, and points of view to our country.
