“We need workers, not leaders. Such workers will solve the problems which race leaders talk about.”

                    - Dr. Carter G. Woodson

Welcome to the new school year! My name is Mr. Gilbert. It’s hard to believe that this is my 10th year (18th overall) teaching at Gregory School. I am a native of Long Branch and formally educated through the Long Branch School district. Upon graduation from Long Branch High School, I attended Kean University in Union, New Jersey, where I majored in Liberal Arts. However, during my third year at Kean, my career interest changed to teaching. After graduating from Kean, I entered Bloomfield College’s Post-Baccalaureate Program and received certification in Elementary Education. Most recently, I have earned a Master's in Elementary General Education. I have taught in several school districts throughout New Jersey over the past 17 years. I have had the pleasure of working in Red Bank, Jersey City, Newark, Manalapan, and Long Branch. However, Long Branch will always be home.

I look forward to working with parents and community members and, most importantly, educating the geniuses here at Gregory School.
