• Intervention and Referral Services/Preschool Intervention and Referral Team

    In support of the Long Branch PublicSchool’s Mission, “to meet or exceed the standards set forth by the State ofNew Jersey,” every school in the Long Branch Public School district is equippedwith a multidisciplinary Intervention and Referral Service (I&RS) team thatis designed to address the needs of student’s experiencing difficulties andsupport each school’s compliance with the NJ Department of Education’sintervention and referral service regulations (N.J.A.C. 6A:16-8).

    Each school has an established, coordinatedsystem where general (regular) education students are supported with servicesthrough the planning and delivery of intervention and referral services(I&RS). Such services are designed to:

    ·        Assist students who are experiencing learning, behavior or health difficulties; and

    ·        Assist staff who have difficulties in addressing students’ learning, behavior or health needs.

    I&RS Team members work proactively toplan and implement a systematic process that provides interventions that address and are targeted to improve any identified student concerns.
