Celebrating Women’s History Month: “You Are the Investment”
In recognition of Women’s History Month, Long Branch High School hosted “You Are the Investment,” a leadership and empowerment experience designed to inspire high school girls to recognize their value and potential.
Organized by Nykeirah Jones, SBYS Youth Development Specialist, and Jamie Lynn Hayes, Officer of Student-Athlete Affairs, the full-day program brought students together for meaningful conversations about confidence, leadership, and personal growth. Through interactive activities, workshops, and a panel discussion featuring community leaders and mentors, students explored the importance of self-worth, using their voice, and investing in their futures.
The day opened with a motivational message from community leader Dyese Davis, encouraging students to embrace their identity and believe in their ability to lead and create change.
As the program concluded, students reflected on a powerful reminder shared throughout the day: “You are the investment—and your growth matters.”
The event highlighted the district’s continued commitment to empowering young women to lead with confidence, resilience, and purpose.
