Long Branch Public Schools Brings Learning to Life Through Summer STEAM Program

Long Branch Public Schools is keeping students engaged and inspired this summer through its dynamic Summer STEAM Learning Program. Designed around hands-on, project-based learning, the program gives students opportunities to explore science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics in creative and meaningful ways. Throughout the summer, students have participated in science labs, woodworking, gardening and other interactive activities that encourage problem-solving, collaboration and curiosity.

The program also supports the district’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. Students help care for some of the school gardens across the district, while fresh produce grown in district gardens is made available to students every Friday through the program’s farmers market. This weekly experience introduces students to locally grown food while reinforcing the importance of healthy choices, environmental responsibility and sustainable practices.

This week, students expanded their learning beyond the classroom through special partnerships with local organizations. Summa Love Surf Camp provided students with the exciting opportunity to learn how to surf under the guidance of dedicated and experienced instructors. The YMCA also provided swim instruction, helping students strengthen their skills, build confidence and learn important water-safety practices. Through innovative programming and strong community partnerships, Long Branch Public Schools continues to provide enriching experiences that help students learn, grow and thrive throughout the summer.
