Long Branch Public Schools – Black History Month Celebrations
Across Long Branch Public Schools, Black History Month was celebrated through meaningful lessons, creative expression, and schoolwide activities that honored the achievements and lasting contributions of Black leaders, artists, and changemakers. Students and staff engaged in thoughtful discussions, projects, and performances that deepened understanding of history while connecting its impact to the present.
A special highlight of this year’s celebrations was the Long Branch High School dance program, which visited schools throughout the district to share powerful performances in honor of Black History Month. These student-led presentations brought history to life through movement and storytelling, inspiring younger students and strengthening connections across grade levels.
We are proud of the many ways our schools came together to celebrate Black History Month, reinforcing our shared commitment to equity, cultural awareness, and belonging for every student.
