Dear Parents and Students,
Hello! My name is Mrs. Liska! I am very excited to be your 2nd grade teacher in our classroom at the George Catrambone School! I am currently on maternity leave, home with my baby girl, Scarlett, but I will be returning in November! In the meantime, I have been and will continue to have constant contact with Mrs. Geraldo. Feel free to email me or message me on Class Dojo with any questions/concerns you may have.
A little bit about me: I was born in Long Branch, and raised in Oceanport. I am a certified elementary school teacher that has worked in the Long Branch School District since 2009. I graduated from Montclair State University, with a degree in Family and Child Studies, and a duel certification in Elementary Education K-5 and P-3. I have taught preschool, first grade, and third grade. This is third year teaching second grade and I could not be more excited! In addition to my education background, I am also a Certified Health Counselor, and strive to make time to educate students about healthy habits, and squeeze in a lot of "Brain Breaks" throughout the day which incorporate various forms of exercise and meditation/breathing techniques.
I am so excited to have each and every one of you as part of our class this year! Please be sure to check this class website weekly for updates on homework assignments, helpful links to our educational programs, as well as exciting upcoming events. Please visit this website as often as you can and feel free to contact me at 732-222-3215 or via e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have any questions or comments.
Your child has received a homework folder. Each night, Math homework, Reading homework, as well as important paperwork and information will be sent home in this folder. Please check your child's homework folder daily.
Parent/Teacher communication is very important and by checking the homework folder daily with your child, it will also help him/her become more responsible.
Thank you for all of your support!
