Welcome future scientists! My name is Mrs. Howard and I am excited to be teaching 6th and 7th grade science at Long Branch Middle School.
I earned my B.A. in Communication from Rutgers University and my M.A. in Environmental Studies from Montclair State University. Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked as an Environmental Scientist, where the focus of my responsibilities was cleaning up contaminated sites throughout the state of New Jersey.
It wasn't until a few years ago that I found my true calling - sharing my love of science and mathematics with my students. I completed the New Pathways to Teaching Program through New Jersey City University and became certified in Elementary Education, Middle School Science, Middle School Mathematics and Students with Disabilities. I am currently completing my M.A.T. in Teacher of Students with Disabilities. Before I found my home in Long Branch, I taught as a long-term substitute in Point Pleasant, South Amboy, Spotswood and Little Silver.
Let's all have a great year!
