    Welcome To Our Online Classroom

    Septmber, 2018

Cool and refreshing air has finally reached us in the form of the welcome season of fall.  We all are looking forward to first grade adventures.  We are continuing our Treasures reading groups and sending home books for students to practice the skills they have learned.   In math, we will continue learning about geometric shapes, patterns, creating number stories and learning about place value.  I urge you to assist with these activities by asking your child what he or she has learned and helping them count by tens, ones and fives to 100.  Thank you for all your help and as in the past, please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or problems.

School hours this year are:  7:40A.M. to 2:30 P.M.

Breakfast:  All children may receive a healthy breakfast daily prior to the start of the school day.

Uniformity of dress:  All students need to follow the dress code and wear a uniform.  Please label all coats, sweaters, book bags with your child's name.  Sneakers will be required for gym class.

Dismissal:  ALL DISMISSAL CHANGES (PARENT PICK-UP INSTEAD OF TAKING THE BUS OR  ANOTHER INDIVIDUAL PICKING UP CHILD) REQUIRE A NOTE OR CALL TO SCHOOL (PRIOR TO DISMISSAL). For safety reasons, the alternate person picking up your child will be required to show identification before the child is released.  Please put the note inside your child's folder on the day this may occur.

Bus Students:  A parent or guardian must be at the bus stop in time to pick up your child.  If no one is there, your child will be brought back to school.

Transportation Tags:  Please be sure your child has the correct tag attached to the book bag.  Please do not remove this tag as it assists us at dismissal to make sure your child gets on the correct bus or attends the Champions Program.

Folders:  Please check the folder your child will bring home each night for homework assignments and any important notices that must be returned to school.  Please remove papers that are on the side marked, "Keep at home."  These folders need to be returned to school every day.

Attendance:  Good attendance is vital in insuring your child's academic success.  If you child is ill, please keep him or her at home.  Upon return, we request a note giving the reason for the absence.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at school with a note, a call or an email.  My email address is:  jacer@longbranch.k12.nj.us. .
