• Hi! My name is Mr. John Luckenbill. I am the Talented Theme Instrumental Music Teacher in addition to being the Talented Theme Team Leader. I am in my 44th year of teaching instrumental music.  My entire teaching career has been with the Long Branch Public Schools.

My musical career started at the age of 5 years old playing piano.  I started on trumpet as a young elementary student like the children I am teaching.  In high school I was the first student from the Jersey Shore to be selected into the McDonald's All-American High School Band.  After high school I attended Michigan State University on a music scholarship and graduated with a BA in Music Education with High Honors.  Outside of school I continue to perform in many professional groups including musician and personnel manager with the Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea which has appeared on ABC-TV twice and performed at Carnegie Hall.  I am presently the conductor of the Asbury Park Concert Band and John Luckenbill Pops Band which perform every week during the summer on the boardwalks in Asbury Park and Belmar.

I am really looking forward to teaching all of my students this year!
