Welcome To My Online ClassroomName: Joanne RohrmanSchool: Long Branch Middle SchoolClass / Grade: English/Language Arts 7
Hello! My name is Joanne Rohrman. I am an English Language Arts teacher at the middle school. This year is my 22nd year as a Long Branch teacher. While here, I've had the opportunity to teach students at almost every level, from grade 1 to high school. I did my student teaching at the old middle school in the Fall semester of 1997, so coming to the current building in 2013 was like coming full circle for me. I am excited to be starting off this year with your children as they begin grade 7. It is going to be a great year!
I love being an English teacher not only because reading and writing are some of my favorite activities, but because I get to share this lifelong love of words with students and (I hope) encourage them/motivate them to become enthusiastic readers too. English Language Arts encompasses communication skills that are keys for success in virtually every aspect of life. Being an effective communicator is more imporant than it has ever been, and this importance will continue to grow as technology continues to evolve. The workforce of tomorrow is going to have to be well-educated but also agile and flexible in order to meet changing needs. Many jobs that our children will hold in the future haven't been invented yet. Here in Long Branch, "Future Ready" is a serious commitment to educating our students to meet the challenges of the future!
You can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at 732 222-5533, extension 42280. I look forward to meeting you at Back to School Night on October 2 from 5 to 7 pm.
