Hi parents and students,
As we enter this time of unkown, I have worked to create some familiarity and normalcy for my math students. I have made a schedule of math assignments for the first 10 days students are out of school. Click on the link or check it out on the "weekly assignments" page. There is one assignment per day. Students have the option of completing the work online with their login for BigIdeasMath.com or they can do the work on a piece of paper using the textbook page and problem numbers listed. It’s one or the other, not both.
I will post updates on Google Classroom. Additionally I have created a Google document and posted it on Google classroom for students to post questions or concerns. It works sort of like a chat. I will check on the documents multiple times a day. If a student is stuck on a problem they do not have to rush to submit their work if they have not received a response. They can complete the assignment the next day with the help. The goal is to keep the kids engaged and active in math.
All Students can find notes for every section under the “Classwork” section on Google Classroom. All of the assignments are review assignments from work we have already completed.
I encourage all students to complete 10 to 20 problems on Prodigy to keep their minds sharp. If your child has the resources, hopefully it will not be difficult to fit in. This is not mandatory.
I wish you all health and safety. I look forward to seeing all of the students again as soon as this all passes over.
Please use the Weekly Assignment link to the left to stay up to date with what we are doing in class including homework assignments.
I am so happy you found my page. I try to provide as much information as possible with many ways for parents to stay involved with their student's studies in 6th grade math. Please email me below with your child's name and I will send you information on how to join his/her ClassDojo and how to stay informed with our Google Classroom assignments. I try to keep homework assignments posted on the Long Branch parent portal. The parent portal is available to all Long Branch parents and provides access to the grades for alll of your child's classes. If you need to sign up, please contact the main office.
You can reach me at JDeLisa@longbranch.k12.nj.us with questions, comments, and concerns.
