• Can tablets transform education?

    The tech trend of tablets is becoming increasingly more popular. Educators throughout the nation are embracing the tool to enhance student learning. We will be using a flash driven tablet to standardize homework and differentiate instruction in the near future. Look for news to break next week on the district's progression. Imagine as a parent having your child do homework at the practice field or in the car with wireless tablets! AWESOME!

    We are working to develop a single system for hosting all school data including, but not limited to daily formative assessment data. This concept allows cohort analysis and value added growth models for students and classes.

  • Evening Computer Lab

    We will be opening the computer labs at the HS and Gregory School beginning in October for parents to review online content if they do not have a working computer at home. Tuesday and Thursday evenings 5PM-8PM

    The most effective school districts, in terms of instructional competencies, have embraced a valid and reliable instructional model. What model defines instruction in Long Branch? LB School leaders must be prepared to answer as we will be adopting a framework that supports a standards based approach for all subject areas.

    Coming soon... a research based observation framework that supports the essentials of teaching and learning. Collaboration and communication are imperative throughout this process as the NJ DOE has embraced four models. Long Branch teachers and administrators will work to identify a model that supports the direction we are headed.
     
     
    Do your research... McRel, Marzano, Danielson and TAP. These are the four models that are endorsed by the NJ DOE. If you have a preference talk to someone on the committee, which will be announced this week (September 26)
